Helistar Aviation has been providing helicopter services to major clients since 2005.
We provide aviation solutions across Australia specialising in air work but also providing charter flights and helicopter training. We have proven expertise in highly specialised work such as powerline inspection and insulator washing, search & rescue work, filming for feature films and geophysical survey work in remote areas. Our key priority is your safety. To ensure we meet the highest levels of safety performance, we have implemented a Safety Management System that conforms to the International Civil Aviation Organisation’s safety management framework and to AS45001 for safety management systems. Key clients audit our safety management system on a regular basis and the international Flight safety Foundation audits Helistar annually and has certified it to meet its Gold BAR standard so you can rest assured that we conform to these standards.

Westpac Life Saver Rescue Helicopter operates 7 days a week, 365 days a year, from our bases at La Perouse in Sydney and at Moruya Airport on the NSW South Coast.

We work with:
- NSW Police Force, assisting in the land and sea search and rescue.
- Surf Life Saving NSW, ensuring the safety of the community on the beach and in the ocean.
- NSW State Emergency Service, providing flood rescue operations and disaster support throughout NSW.
- Rural Fire Service, deploying personnel into fire zones and other emergency support.
- Joint Rescue Coordination Centre (JRCC).
Beach, Surf and Shark Patrol
Helistar is dedicated to enhancing the safety of beachgoers and surfers by operating beach, surf and shark patrols out of Adelaide, South Australia, and along the coastlines off Busselton and Fremantle in Western Australia during summer months.
Powerline Inspections and Insulator Washing
Helistar conducts essential aerial and ground-based powerline inspections across Australia to prepare for summer. Using advanced aerial surveillance, they identify hazards like vegetation encroachment and structural damage, preventing power outages and reducing fire risks to safeguard communities during the high-risk season.
